FE champion and campaigner, John Griffiths AM has highlighted the importance of ColegauCymru’s most recent report ‘Building a better Wales – Lessons from Europe’.
The report is the contribution made by ColegauCymru to the policy debate on economic resilience, skills and importantly, how Wales can make the most of the knowledge and experience shared by our partners in other European countries. The report compiled by FE experts assisted by experts from Cardiff University will assist in responding to current policy challenges around skills planning. It also plays a key part of the organisation’s preparations for the Assembly Election 2021 Manifesto.
The statement was made on 17th September during plenary. The Trefnydd and Minister responsible for Assembly Business, Rebecca Evans AM thanked John Griffiths for highlighting the report while expressing her interesting in receiving a copy to help inform Government thinking as they develop the employability and skills agenda.
As the political climate within the UK, and across the wider world, remains uncertain, issues of economic resilience and how to better prepare for economic shocks are ever more important.
Speaking in the chamber, John Griffith said, “We really need to concentrate our minds on the future skills needs of Wales and make sure that we provide them as effectively as possible.”
